What is Stable Diffusion?

Stable Diffusion is a family of image generator models from Stability AI. Stable Diffusion is known for its task versatility and the ability to create high-quality photorealistic pictures, and the open-source nature of the project makes it a fan favorite. The downsides of these models are the computational intensity as opposed to other providers, and steeper learning curve.

Stability AI Settings

CFG Scale

The Classifier-Free Guidance Scale controls how strongly the generated image aligns with the given text prompt. This parameter balances creativity and adherence to the prompt.

• Higher values mean more adherence to prompt and can lead to overoptimized distorted outputs.
• Lower values give the model more creative freedom, but the output may not fit your original idea.
• The recommended value is anywhere between 7-12. It may take a while to find the perfect balance for the task at hand.
• The default value in FlowHunt is 10.

Steps

The number of denoising iterations used during the image generation process. Each step incrementally refines the image from random noise toward the final result based on the input prompt and guidance parameters.

• Higher number of more than 50 steps means more detailed output, but will take more time and cost more. Consider going above 50 only for more complex tasks.
• Lower number of less than 50 means faster and cheaper results, but lower quality. Some simple tasks may only require 20-30 steps.
• The recommended number is 40-50, which is great for most tasks while not breaking the bank.
• The Default number in FlowHunt is 50.
  

Image Size: Pick the size you want to generate. These options determined by Stability AI. You can pick 256×256, 512×512, or keep the default 1024×1024.
Tool Description: This optional message lets the AI Agent know how to use this tool. Here you can input instructions to let the Agent know how to use this tool.
Tool Name: The name by which the agent will refer to this tool. This name is optional and helps you better understand verbose reporting.
Verbose: Check if you want to see a detailed report of what the agent is doing and thinking during the generation process.

Model

This is the model picker. Here, you’ll find all the supported Stable Diffusion models:

• SD3 Large – Introduces better text rendering, improved adherence to prompts, and flexibility with various model sizes for more accurate and practical results.
• SDXL V1 – Focuses on generating high-quality, detailed images with enhanced color depth and composition, ideal for intricate and visually stunning outputs.

Component Handles

Input Handle

Since AI won’t just start generating without any instructions, there’s a green handle for inputting prompts. This handle can take any text format. This means both human prompts via Chat Input and prompts from any other component that outputs text.

Output Handles

Pink – As a tool for AI agents. This way, the Agent decides when it needs the tool, can call on it, and give it prompts.
Green – Outputting the picture. For more straightforward usage, this image acts as text and can simply be sent to output or other components for further processing.

How To Add The Stability AI Image Generator To Your Flow

This component is a generator, meaning AI does its magic in this box. It creates pictures based on input and can output them to chat or other components.

Let’s create the simplest possible Flow to see the component in action. You can think of it as a basic connection to Stable Diffusion. This Flow will allow you to send prompts in chat and have the Flow respond with generated images.
