Text Readability Evaluator

This is the Ideal tool for content creators looking to match the reading ability of their audience. This flow evaluates the readability of input text using the Flesch Kincaid readability metric. It helps determine how easy or difficult the text is to read, providing a score corresponding to a specific reading grade level.

To use this Flow, simply input the text you want to evaluate. The flow then processes the input and calculates the readability score using the Flesch-Kincaid formula:

This Flow expects the input to be plain text. If you’d like to input a URL instead, use our URL Readability Evaluator

Try the Flow

Shorter sentences and simpler vocabulary generally result in better readability scores, especially for a wider audience. Adjust your content based on the results to suit your target audience’s reading level more effectively.

Components breakdown

Chat Input: This is the message you send in the chat. It’s the starting point of any flow.

Readability Evaluator: Processes input text and assigns readability value.

Chat Output: Component representing the chatbot’s answer.

Useful Tips

The Readability Evaluator component offers various readability metrics. This template only uses Flesch-Kincaid, Automated Readability Index (ARI), and Dale-Chall by default. To experiment with other readability metrics, simply open the Evaluator settings and toggle the metrics on and off.
